Inspired by the vintage Panasonic ones with beautiful botanical illustrations. B. Miyo decided on a native pua that represents Hawaiʻi, maʻo hau hele or the yellow hibiscus, our state flower. Blending two cultures together is a consistent theme in my art, hence the simple title of “Hapa Rice.”
